Woodrow's; Molly; Cindy; Woodrow's 2; Woodrow's 3; GS Happy Hour; Car stereo install and American Analog Set; Rogue Wave (not really)

Cindy and I decided to check out La Mexicana for breakfast. It was good stuff. I had this dried beef with my eggs. Very nice.
My notes indicate that I met will up at Woodrow's that night. Seems likely. Probably at the West Alabama location to see that waitress he likes.

I had, for a long time, been meaning to take Molly out. She had been wanting to try out Chuy's, so we opted to meet there, only to find the place inexplicably closed (staff Christmas party?). Beso (a tapas place) was just down the road, so we thought we'd try there, only to find it, also, closed. In trying to think of a place nearby and easy to get to, I chose Taco Milagro, which wasn't exactly ideal.
Afterwards we went to the Proletariat to catch Dan's DJ show. Their Monday night specials include dangerously cheap Shiner pitchers, which I took advantage of. Anyway, things with Molly (who very well may be reading this) were a bit awkward (which we mutually agreed was the case), but ultimately I think we had a good time.

I neglected to reference anything about this night in my notes; however, it was probably this night that Cindy came over to hang out. Damn. I didn't deal with this week very well.
12/7
Apparently I went to Woodrow's again this night, possibly with Will. Or I could have had Tuesday and Wednesday reversed. I also believe this is the night that Sabrina and I hung out at LZ's and got some beer, but I'm having lots of difficulty placing that in the schedule. It happened sometime, and because it was Sabrina, we had a great time. It seems likely that after that I climbed into my car and went to Woodrow's. But I'm really not sure. I guess I can't always be 100%.
12/8
This night definitely took place at Woodrow's. I showed up because Will was working, but the crowd was light so he was mostly just hanging out. Leroy and Char came out, and met a couple of girls who will show up again later. Cindy came by and hung out, too. It was a good, if low key evening.

Friday was the graduate school end of term happy hour at Slick Willie's in Montrose. But first, we had a Keck Fellows meeting at Rice. There was no beer; however, we were offered three bottles of wine, which Graham and I took over to Valhalla to have opened. We were faced with a decision: how many could we drink? Ultimately, we decided to have faith in our fellow fellows, and went for all three. I had to make up for the poor performance of some of our number, but we finished the bottles off in the end.
Jesse was willing to come pick me up, and from there we went to the happy hour. Things were good. We put some beers on Char's tab and played some pool. I got to introduce myself to Holly 2 (as opposed to last spring's brief love interest Holly, who is now in Indiana), whom I often see on my floor and who has managed to cactch my eye.
Cindy soon showed up, and we played some pool before going to La Tapatia for some dinner. Afterwards we caught up with the rest of the crew at Eric's (GSC guy and cohort of other GSC guy Dave) place. It was kind of lame, so we didn't stick around too long.
12/10
Kristin needed a new car stereo in order to be able to hook her iRiver up, so, sensing an mutually beneficial opportunity, I agreed to sell my old deck (and the aux-in adapter that enabled the hookup of Kristin's mp3 player) to Dan and, for laughs, to help install it.
So I showed up that afternoon and we set to work, feeling very competent and so forth. We did a beautiful job, but... it just didn't work. After a few hours, Dan needed to go, and so we gave up. Fast forward to the next day, when Dan took it to Best Buy (where I had an extended warranty). Turns out that the fuse was mysteriously missing. We had done fine putting the thing in, and as always, it's nice to be reassured that you're as competent as you think you are.
I picked Cindy up from school and we met up with Chris at the American Analog Set show at Walter's. As I remembered from the last time I saw them (Spring '04), it was pure, laid-back bliss. I let the buzz of cheap beer overtake me and floated away on the sound of the instrumental rock.
12/11
By the time Sunday night came around, I was well into the Streak, and feeling its effects. Cindy and I met up with Dan et al for the Rogue Wave show, but things were running behind, and we called it a night early. I had wanted to see them, as they were 2-1 for all the times I'd seen them, but 0-1 for the times I'd seen them headline, and I was curious to know whether I'd just caught them on an off night, or if something stranger was going on. Whatever the case, I didn't find out that night.
