HTC drops some Beats
Well, that didn’t last long.
Beats’ ins and outs with HTC are interesting, as is the company’s decision to buy music streaming service Mog, but I think the real story on beats is: are they going to be able to accomplish anything without the backing of Monster? My understanding is that Monster designed all their headphones; now that that relationship is dissolved, I wonder if they have the audio engineering talent to produce products that will sell.
Of course, most of Beats’ headphones never sounded very good to begin with, so maybe the Beats brand and artist endorsements are all they really need.
Update: Looks like Beats dropped HTC, not vice versa, after HTC dropped the ball on promises made to Beats.
