My review of the Velodyne vPulse headphones
I approached these cautiously, because “big bass” headphones frequently have little else going for them, and even the bass tends to work to their detriment.
But man, these things sound great! I would prefer the bass dialed back a bit, but I’ve been reaching for them a lot lately. If you’re looking for good in-ears around $100 (hell, even if you’re looking at higher end stuff), these are worth your consideration. Great value.
I’ve let two people try these out—one has already bought a pair, and one expects to do so soon.
And, since he’s how I found out about the vPulse, I’ll say this: I’m not afraid to admit when Steve “Audiophiliac” Guttenburg is right, but he got the vPulse right (though perhaps for the wrong reasons?).
